The company was formerly known as Spartan Stores Inc., but rebranded itself with new name in February 2016 after selling its retail division to Ahold Delhaize (AD), becoming one of AD’s largest outlets at 1,300 stores across 46 states along with hundreds more fueling stations across 11 states ranging from Vermont/New Hampshire border down east coast through Florida Keys area before ending up back again near Kansas City area where it started off many years ago when first opened doors back then known only by locals as just “The Corner Store” until later renamed “Spartan Store” which eventually became today’s giant corporation called Spartan Stores Incorporated now known simply as [SPTNY].
