If you’re looking for an MBA degree program, there are lots of options. You can go to a large university in a big city or a small liberal arts college in an idyllic town. You can choose between schools with traditional curricula and those that emphasize experiential learning. And still others offer dual-degree programs with other disciplines like engineering or law. The Olin Business School stands out because of its differences:

The Olin School of Business is different.

The Olin School of Business is unlike other business schools. It’s a small, young school located in different places. In some ways, this makes it challenging to understand the Olin model.

But don’t worry! We’ll walk you through how everything works so that you can get excited about being a student here too!

Olin has been around for only about 15 years and has grown up as an urban school. But now we’re opening campuses in rural areas because we want to reach more people with our unique curriculum, which includes both technical skills and liberal arts education. You see? We really are different from other business schools!

It has been from its beginning.

Olin is a different kind of business school because it has been from its beginning. When Olin was founded in 1997, it was the first time that a new business school had been created in over 50 years. Since then, Olin has continued to push boundaries and rethink what an MBA program can look like.

It’s also different because of where it is located: Needham, Massachusetts—a suburb about 20 miles west of Boston. The college sits on a working farm owned by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) which spans 156 acres and includes fields and forests as well as multiple buildings housing classrooms, offices and residences for faculty members and students alike.

But what does that mean?

But what does that mean? Let’s break it down.

Olin is small and intimate, with just over 400 students. That means professors know you by name, help you with your career aspirations, and provide opportunities for collaboration on real-world problems. And being a student at Olin means living in a tight-knit community where you can join a variety of clubs and organizations, or even start your own club!

Olin is located in the heart of St. Louis—a city bursting with culture, nightlife and entertainment—but it’s also close enough to Chicago to make weekend trips if that’s your thing. You’ll spend plenty of time exploring St. Louis’ parks and food scene (you can also visit our sister campus in Washington D.C.) but there’s no reason not to take advantage of all the wonderful things nearby Chicago has to offer as well!

Finally—and perhaps most importantly—OLIN IS FOCUSED ON EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CURRICULUM AND NOT JUST AT THE END OF A STUDENT’S CAREER OR PROGRAM OF STUDY: This means we want you to be able to apply what we teach immediately after graduation through internships or research programs; this gives students more choice about how they spend their time while at school; this allows us focus instruction on solving real world problems rather than hypothetical ones; finally this allows us space for students who want more freedom with how they structure their educational experiences here at Olin so long as those experiences are aligned with our core values of entrepreneurship & innovation

They can be very, very different.

It’s important to remember that business models can be very, very different. Many stand out because of their size, or their age, or the fact that they’re in a tiny town or the middle of a big city.

Many are also very different because they serve people who are older than you—and not just because they might have more money. Older people have had different experiences than young people do. They may be more likely to get married and stay married longer than younger generations (or less likely). They may have kids who are grown up and no longer need help paying for college tuition (or need it more). And there might be other things about them that make them more willing to pay for certain types of products or services—which is why businesses like Olin Business Model exist!

Many stand out because of their size, or their age, or the fact that they’re in a tiny town or the middle of a big city.

Many stand out because of their size, or their age, or the fact that they’re in a tiny town or the middle of a big city.

For example:

  • Olin is small. It’s one-fifth the size of most engineering schools, but it’s not small for its class. (In other words: You’re not going to feel lost in a big crowd—which can happen at some larger schools.)
  • Olin is new. You’ll be part of an exciting time for us as we continue to build our identity and develop new traditions; you’ll have opportunities to shape what it means to be an Olin student from day one!

In contrast, the Olin business model is based on our principles and values and how we deliver a unique experience and education to our students.

The Olin Business Model is based on our principles and values and how we deliver a unique experience and education to our students.

Olin is a small school with an endowment of $150 million. The Center for American Progress reported that, for the most recent year available (2016), average tuition was $33,010 at private colleges with endowments over $1 billion. Olin’s tuition has never approached these numbers; in fact, it has only increased by 2% since 2013–and even then it was still below the 3% annual increase allowed by the state of Massachusetts per statute!

The Olin model is also focused on experiential learning as well as traditional classroom instruction (though some might argue there isn’t much difference between these two things). This means that students are encouraged to take risks while they build knowledge and skills through projects designed by faculty members who know what they’re doing because they’ve done similar work before; this means taking advantage of resources like TechShop Boston where you can use tools like CNC machines or laser cutters without having any previous experience working with them beforehand; this also means going abroad into another country where English may not be spoken natively but we manage just fine thanks to technology like Google Translate which allows us to communicate effectively despite differences in language background!

At large scale universities like Harvard University or MIT many professors are expected teach hundreds if not thousands times per year so their focus becomes less about teaching quality than quantity. At smaller schools such as ours however where class sizes are capped at 25 students per section (or even lower when possible) professors get more time leading group discussions instead – including office hours after each lecture so everyone can talk about topics covered inside class session itself!

Our graduates and students work hard to engage as a community with our campus, St. Louis, and the world around them.

At Olin, you’ll be engaged in your education, your career, and your personal life. This means that you’re likely to spend most of the time at our school meeting with other people and working on projects. You will also have plenty of opportunity to explore St. Louis and go outside campus.

We believe that it’s important for students to make connections with each other as well as with alumni and faculty members who can help them find jobs after graduation. In addition, many students participate in extracurricular activities such as sports teams or clubs that bring together an entire community within Olin College or even outside its walls!

It’s not uncommon for students here to get involved in volunteering opportunities on campus or off campus too; some have even gone abroad during their time here at Olin College! Our alumni go on adventures all over the world after graduation too so don’t worry if you’re worried about missing out on any experiences while studying here – there will still plenty of chances 🙂

This is What Makes Olin Different.

  • Mission:

Olin College’s mission is to educate students in engineering, technology, and business management with a focus on creating positive impact in the world. In order to achieve this goal, we believe in building an inclusive community through providing opportunities for students to learn from diverse perspectives, work together as peers and develop into leaders who can make a difference.

  • Culture:

Because of our unique mission at Olin College, we have created an environment where people can feel comfortable taking risks and learning from their mistakes without fear of judgment or failure. We have built relationships where people are encouraged to share their ideas without fear of being judged negatively by others. We believe that these relationships are what make up our culture at Olin College because they allow us all to be successful together as one team working towards achieving our vision for the future!

The Olin Business School stands out because of its differences

Olin Business School stands out because of its differences. Unlike other business schools, Olin is a small liberal arts college with an undergraduate program. It also offers a Masters in Management and PhD programs for working professionals, but still has a lower acceptance rate than many other top-tier business schools (just 13 percent).

The school’s innovation-driven culture stems from its unique history: it was founded by John Hopkins University in 2000 as part of an initiative to develop new forms of education that prepare students for careers in technology or entrepreneurship. As a result, Olin students learn from faculty members who are experts in their fields and have worked at innovative companies like Apple and Google; they also participate in projects such as building robots or creating apps based on their own ideas.

Conclusion

We hope this article helped you learn more about what makes Olin different. We are a unique and special place, but we’re also just like any other business school with students who want to succeed in their careers. We encourage you to explore our website or reach out directly if you would like more information on applying or attending the Olin School of Business.
